Oh, no! That really sucks. :( Get well soon.

As for me, I'm doing weight training 3 times a week and cardio and abs three times a week. I've been doing that routine for about a month and I've definitely seen some improvements.

now.. i walk... three times a week and i still do free weights and my thighmaster.. no situps for me!!! i dont think i should bend that way just yet.

i lost 10 lbs while in the hospital, but since january, i've gained it back, plus some friends.... sigh... back to the treadmill for me!! =) (walking only)

I took up running at the end of November, completed a 10k race in February (run/walk), and ran 5k without stopping on Tuesday. Haven't lost any weight, but I imagine I'm fitter than I've ever been in my life!

So... how do I shed the bastard lbs?!!

Wow! Congrats on the races! That's fantastic!

I know what you mean about getting rid of the weight that exercise just can't seem to take off. I've never tried it, but I've read that alternating your calorie intake every two weeks can help. Basically, you eat 1500 calories for 2 weeks, then eat 1200 calories for two weeks, then start all over at 1500. The decrease down to 1200 allows you to cut out some extra calories and shed some pounds, but if you stay there too long, your metabolism will slow down. By coming back to 1500 for a couple of weeks, you avoid the slow down.

Thanks. Made it 6k without stopping on Monday ;)

As for 1200/1500... if only I were disciplined enough to count calories, I probably wouldn't have a problem ;) The exercise I'm getting sussed, the eating? Nope!
